This moment of our present invites us to pivot with a knowledge of the past, and our feeling of the future.
Nothing less than transformation is occurring, often to the further detriment of many, and the contributed profit of some. Any transformation in deep and resounding positive directions depends upon movements, many of which are already well underway, even have been all along, and others more newly initiated or nudged by artists and intellectuals.
So here we are. Tamaas: the word for “connection” in Arabic, has worked since 2004 between Morocco, France and New York in film, poetry, dance and translation. Through our new branch, Earth Arts Justice, we have launched a series of interview recordings with thoughtful members of our community of artists, and people at large. We are asking folks to reflect on what their parents and grandparents lives could bring to the present moment, and how their own work and lives connect to collective ecosystems and to our climate.
Each participant receives one question or more that is specifically connected to their work and experience.
Participants for 2020 have included Françoise Vergès, Anne Waldman, Jabari Brisport , Cecilia Vicuña, Safaa Fathy and Lois Elaine Griffith with more to come.

Le temps présent nous invite à virevolter de sorte que notre connaissance du passé nourrisse notre sentiment du futur.
Le changement à l’œuvre profite à une poignée d’élus au détriment du plus grand nombre. Or, tout changement profond et positif dépend de certains mouvements, dont la plupart ont déjà commencé depuis longtemps, voire depuis toujours, et d’autres, plus récents, encouragés par les artistes et les intellectuels.
Depuis 2014, Tamaas, qui signifie connexion, en arabe, travaille entre le Maroc, la France et New York dans les domaines du cinéma, de la poésie, de la danse et de la traduction. Par l’intermédiaire de notre nouvelle branche, Earth Arts Justice, nous avons lancé une série d’entretiens avec des membres clairvoyants de notre communauté d’artistes et avec le grand public. Nous leur demandons de réfléchir à ce que la vie de leurs parents et grands-parents pourrait offrir au moment présent, et comment leur propre travail et leur vie sont liés à des écosystèmes collectifs et à notre climat.
Chaque participant se voit poser une ou plusieurs questions liées à son travail et son expérience.

هذه اللحظة من حاضرنا تدعونا إلى التغير محصنين بمعرفة الماضي، وشعورنا بالمستقبل. لا يحدث شيء أقل من التحول، ولكنه غالباً ما يكون على حساب الكثيرين، مقابل ربح البعض.
عملت تماس، التي تعني كلمة "اتصال" باللغة العربية، منذ عام 2004 بين المغرب وفرنسا ونيويورك في الأفلام والشعر والرقص والترجمة. من خلال فرعنا الجديد، "عدالة فنون الأرض"، أطلقنا سلسلة من المقابلات الصوتية / المرئية، أحيانًا مع القراءات والعروض، مع أعضاء من مجتمع الفنانين خصوصا، والناس عموما.
لاستغلال قوى التحول من الداخل، نطلب من الناس أن يفكروا فيما يمكن أن تجلبه حياة آبائهم وأجدادهم إلى اللحظة الحالية، وكيف يرتبط عملهم وحياتهم الخاصة بالنظم البيئية المترابطة لمناخنا الجماعي.
يُطلب من كل مشارك أن يتحدث عن هذه الأفكار بشكل عام ، بالإضافة إلى سؤال مرتبط بشكل خاص بعمله وخبرته.
