Jam’iyat Tamadros Al-Fatat Al Qarawiya is a girls dormitory that opened in 2005 to house and support up to two hundred girls from Marrakech who want to continue schooling that is not available for them in rural areas. Founded, built, and run by Touria Binebine and Leila Binebine from the Moroccan chapter of the nonprofit Soroptimists, the dormitory provides the girls with housing and board, and is located within walking distance of the local public school, where they receive their formal education.
For years, Tamaas has supported an after-school program for which they invite artists and poets to work in tandem with the girls in storytelling , music, painting, film & photography, language learning, computer literacy and design workshops. These ongoing workshops encourage reciprocity and mutual learning. In the school year 2020-2021, we are planning a polyphonic podcast of stories and songs from their village lives in hybrid with their own urban experiences and cityscapes.
Please consider donating to the house and board of these 200 girls, in order to ensure them education in the Marrakech public school system, through a tax-deductible donation facilitated by Tamaas' 501(3)c status. 100 % of donations support the girls in their dormitory.

Inaugurée en 2005, à Marrakech, Jam’iyat Tamadros Al-Fatat Al Qarawiya est une résidence pour étudiantes destinée à loger et soutenir financièrement jusqu’à deux cents jeunes adolescentes de la campagne désirant continuer leurs études en ville. Fondée, construite et dirigée par Touria et Leila Binebine, toutes deux membres de la branche marocaine du club Soroptimist, la résidence fournit aux jeunes filles une pension complète à quelques pas de l’école publique où elles étudient.
Depuis des années, Tamaas soutient un programme extrascolaire invitant des artistes et des poètes à travailler en tandem avec ces jeunes filles lors d’ateliers consacrés à l’art de raconter des histoires, à la musique, à la peinture, au cinéma et à la photographie, à la découverte d’une langue étrangère et à la conception assistée par ordinateur. Ces ateliers permanents encouragent la réciprocité et l'apprentissage mutuel. Pour l'année scolaire 2020-2021, Tamaas prévoit un podcast polyphonique avec ces adolescentes, où les histoires et les chansons de leur village se mêlent à leur vie en ville.

جمعية تمدرس الفتاة القروية هي سكن للفتيات افتتح في 2005 لإيواء ودعم ما يصل إلى مائتي فتاة من مراكش اللواتي يرغبن في مواصلة الدراسة الغير متاحة لهن في المناطق الريفية. أسسه وبناه وتديره تورية بينابين وليلى بينابين من الفرع المغربي لجمعية سوروبتوميستس الغير ربحية، حيث يوفر للفتيات السكن والطعام، ويقع على مسافة قريبة من مدرسة عامة محلية، حيث يتلقين تعليمهن الرسمي. لسنوات، دعمت تماس برنامجًا لما بعد الدوام المدرسي حيث تجلب الفنانين الزائرين والشعراء للعمل جنبًا إلى جنب مع الفتيات في ورشات سرد القصص والموسيقى والرسم والأفلام والتصوير الفوتوغرافي وتعلم اللغة ومحو الأمية الحاسوبية والتصميم. تشجع ورش العمل المستمرة المعاملة بالمثل والتعلم المتبادل. في العام الدراسي 2020-2021، نخطط لبودكاست متعدد الأصوات عن قصص وأغاني لحياتهم القروية ممزوجة بمناظر المدينة وتجاربهم فيها.
