Khalil Nemmaoui

Born in 1967, Khalil Nemmaoui discovered photography and film in his early years. He has taken part in several artist residencies, including at “La Cité des Arts” in Paris in 2010, and the Head Land Center for the Arts in San Francisco in 2014. Khalil Nemmaoui’s photographic work is represented in various collections, including those of the Mohammed VI Modern and Contemporary Art Museum, Fondation CDG, Fondation Attijari Wafabank, Fondation Alliances and the Arab World Institute in Paris. He received the Bamako prize in 2011 and the Bamako Prize of Honour in 2019. He is presently engaged in the Bourse des ateliers Medicis, and is working on the notion of "territory" in the outer fields.

Né en 1967, Khalil Nemmaoui découvre la photographie et le cinéma très tôt dans sa vie. Il a participé à plusieurs résidences d’artistes dont « La Cité des Arts » à Paris en 2010, et le Head Land Center for the Arts à San Francisco en 2014. Le travail photographique de Khalil Nemmaoui est présent dans plusieurs collections dont celles du Musée Mohamed VI d’Art Moderne et Contemporain, la Fondation CDG, la Fondation Attijari Wafabank, la Fondation Alliances, l’Institut du Monde Arabe à Paris. Il a reçu le prix Bamako en 2011 et le Bamako Prix d'honneur en 2019. Il fait actuellement le Bourse des ateliers Medicis, et travaille sur la notion de "territoire" sur les hors champs.
