Emmanuel Iduma

Emmanuel Iduma is a writer of fiction and nonfiction. Born and raised in Nigeria, his essays and stories frequently appear in journals, magazines, artists’ books, and exhibition catalogues. He is the author of The Sound of Things to Come (first published as Farad in Nigeria), and received the 2017 Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation grant in arts writing. He holds an MFA in Art Criticism and Writing from the School of Visual Arts, New York, where he now teaches. In 2017, he was associate curator of the Nigerian pavilion at the Venice Biennale. He is the cofounder and editor of Saraba Magazine. His latest work a book of travel stories entitled A Stranger's Pose, was published by Cassava Republic Press in October 2018.

Emmanuel Iduma est un auteur de fiction et de non-fiction. Né au Nigeria, où il a grandi, il a publié des essais et des récits dans des revues, des magazines, des livres d’artistes et des catalogues d’exposition. Il a écrit The Sound of Things to Come (Le Bruit des choses à venir) – d’abord paru sous le titre Farad au Nigeria – et obtenu, en 2017, la bourse Creative Capital/Fondation Warhol en critique d’art. Il détient un master en critique d’art de l’École des arts visuels de New York, où il enseigne aujourd’hui. En 2017, il a été commissaire associé du pavillon nigérian à la Biennale de Venise. Il est le cofondateur et dédacteur en chef du magazine Saraba. Son dernier ouvrage, A Stranger’s Pose (Une pose étrangère), qui se présente comme une compilation de récits de voyage, a été publié chez Cassava Republic Press en octobre 2018.
